However, after her agent, Jeff Witjas, confirmed that the beloved actress died “peacefully in her sleep at her home early [Friday] morning,” he has since been forced to issue an additional statement regarding her cause of death.

While talking to the Associated Press, Witjas address the completely unfounded rumors that Betty White passed away due to a COVID-19 booster-related illness. According to the AP, on December 28, social media users falsely claimed that White admitted to getting her booster.

“Eat healthy and get all your vaccines,” the faked statement read. “I just got boosted today.”

However, as Witjas explained to the AP, White did not receive her booster on December 28. “Betty never said this,” Witjas stated.

“Betty died peacefully in her sleep at her home. People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier but that is not true. She died of natural causes. Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived.”

As the AP reported, the faked quote was a doctored version from her last interview with People where White said she was “so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age. It’s amazing.”

During that interview, Betty White also joked about her secret to a long a fulfilling life which included being a “cockeyed optimist,” avoiding “anything green,” and always celebrating with a vodka on the rocks with a lemon peel and a hot dog on the side! White sure knew how to live a beautiful life.
