After just 3 months of marriage, the Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and his wife Theresa are separating.
In a statement shared with Good Morning America, Turner revealed, “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion, mutually, that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
Theresa added that she’s thankful for the support.
‘The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry and Theresa Got Married But Not Before Two Other People Got Engaged at Their Wedding
Whether you are a fan of The Bachelor franchise or not, you’ve likely heard about the history-making season titled The Golden Bachelor.
The Golden Bachelor featured 70-year-old Bachelor Gerry Turner and 20 other women over the age of 50 looking for another chance of love. The season proved that it is never too late to find love.
In the end, Turner proposed to 70-year-old Theresa Nist. And the couple, although just recently engaged after dating for only two months, have exchanged vows on January 4, 2024, in front of the entire world.
And albeit a bit tacky to get married on national television, Gerry and Theresa did seem to share a mutual admiration for each other, their families, and the journey they’ve been on.
However, one question was brought to the forefront, is it in poor taste to get engaged at someone else’s wedding?
Just moments before Gerry and Theresa said “I do,” two other people involved in The Bachelor franchise got engaged. Brayden Bowers and Christina Mandrell who met while contestants on Bachelor in Paradise got engaged during the Golden Wedding broadcast.
“Christina, from the moment that I picked you up from the airport with your crazy ass rose and your fake disguise, I just knew that there was something special and there was something different,” Brayden told Christina, adding that she made him feel like he could “unapologetically” be himself.
He continued, before “getting down on one knee, “And I have no doubts that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And like Gerry said, it’s like, you know, we have such little time and … I just know that I want to spend the rest of my days with you.”
Christina, with tears in her eyes, enthusiastically said yes.
It was later revealed that before making the decision to propose to Christina at someone else’s wedding, Brayden called Gerry and Theresa to asked them if they would be okay with it. “Brayden actually called Gerry and Theresa and made sure he got their blessing before he proposed,” host Jesse Palmer explained.
But even so, what do you think about others getting engaged at someone else’s wedding?
