If you’re looking for the perfect quarantine magazine, we may have just found it. In April, celebrity chef and restaurant owner, Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA superstar Stephen Curry, released the very first issue of her new magazine called Sweet July.
As Ayesha explained, she chose to call the rag Sweet July because “all three of our babies were born in July, we got married in July and it’s the 7th month in the calendar year,” the mom of three explained on Instagram. “It’s the time in my life where I find I have the most joy and excitement. I wanted to carry that through every day and simply honor and find gratitude in the big and the small moments.”

So now you’re probably wondering why Sweet July is the best magazine to get you through this quarantine? Well, not only does it come with gorgeous photos of her family, personal conversations with her husband and their three children, and profound anecdotes from her mother, mother-in-law, as well as other inspiring figures, but as Ayesha put it herself, it’s “basically a mini-cookbook.”
And she’s not wrong. Mamas Uncut went through and counted every recipe the celeb chef shared within the first issue of her magazine and there are a total of 21 recipes.
And with much of the world still under stay-at-home orders, meaning we are all cooking multiple meals each day, half of that battle is figuring out what to make.
And Sweet July helps eliminate that issue! Now all that’s left to do is follow the step-by-step recipe and you have at least 20 new recipes that are sure to wow your quarantine crew!
The recipes include the most savory-looking dinners and breakfasts and go as far as tasty drinks and the sweetest desserts.
And if you follow Sweet July’s Instagram page, Ayesha even created a shopping list for some of the recipes found in the magazine and also plans on creating videos showing fans how to perfectly execute the recipes as she does. We mean, the hardest parts have already been done for you! How great is that?
Words of wisdom from Ayesha’s mom.
Along with recipes, the magazine also includes a one of a kind column from Ayesha’s mother, Carol Alexander. This particular column talks about her decision to walk away from her 32-year marriage as well as the business she devoted her life to at the age of 56 years old, and all of the feelings that led up to making such a big decision for herself.
So if you’re looking for a magazine that is unlike any other magazine, one that is filled with real-life circumstances and worthwhile information, we recommend ordering or picking up the first-ever issue of Sweet July with your next grocery order.
