These Low-Carb Avocado Chips From TikTok Are Absolutely Addicting

Avocado Chips Recipe

There is another TikTok food trend popping up around social media: low-carb avocado chips. This recipe for avocado chips only uses five ingredients and is so simple to make. Since the avocado chips are absolutely delicious, you’ll definitely want to try this recipe!

These avocado chips are keto-friendly, and many people are using them as a low-carb snack or a replacement for bread. This easy recipe is made with mashed avocado, shredded parmesan cheese and egg. You spread the mixture out on a baking sheet and top with seeds for texture. I like to use everything bagel seasoning since it has a variety of seeds and salt already mixed in.

They are so versatile, you can use the chips as a base for toppings, try them with dip or just eat them on their own. They are a good stand-in for a crostini – so you can make a delicious appetizer or snack. Top them with black bean and corn salsa, or some tuna salad with peppers. See more snack ideas below!

The key to getting crispy avocado chips is spreading them out in very thin, small circles about 1-2 inches apart on a baking sheet. The parmesan cheese is also a key ingredient in adding to the crispy chip. Make sure you get long pieces of shredded parmesan. Also, try not to substitute the type of cheese – hard parmesan works best. If you’ve ever made parmesan crisps, you know how shredded parmesan gets crispy in the oven.

Avocado Chips Recipe Steps

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, mash up the avocado until fairly smooth. Mix in the shredded parmesan cheese and the egg until evenly combined. Depending on the size of your avocado, you can add more or less cheese. The more cheese you add, the crispier the chips will be.

Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Spread out the avocado mixture in 6 circles, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Pat down on the circles to make sure they are thin, especially if you want them crispy like a chip. I used a piece of parchment paper to pat down the mixture and make circles. The thinner you make your circles, the crispier your chips will be. If you are looking to use them as bread and want them to be less crispy, don’t flatten them out as much. Sprinkle each chip with everything bagel seasoning.

Bake for around 30 minutes or until crispy. Keep an eye on the chips so they don’t get browner than you would like – remember ovens vary. Remove from the oven when browned and let cool. Serve with the suggestions above, or add your own topping ideas. This recipe makes about 6 large avocado chips, but feel free to make smaller chips or double the recipe if you want to have more of this addicting snack. Enjoy!
