Audrey Roloff welcomed her second child, a son they named Bode, just two weeks ago and unfortunately, she is already battling a common – and very painful – breastfeeding issue.
Audrey opened up to fans via Instagram that she’s been dealing with mastitis, “an infection that leads to inflammation of breast tissue that can result in pain in your breast, swelling, warmth, and redness,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
She explained on Instagram, “Well, I came down with the dreaded ‘M-word’ a couple [of] days ago…*cough* mastitis *cough.* I’ve been fighting it with all the things and thankfully my fever is dropping and I’m starting to feel a little better today. Meanwhile, my incredible husband has been entertaining Ember girl, helping Bode, and taking care of me.”

This is the second time Audrey battled through mastitis. She also struggled with the infection while breastfeeding Ember as an infant.
Audrey Roloff Talks About Mastitis While Breastfeeding Bode
This isn’t the first time that Roloff has opened up about the good, the bad and the ugly of new mom life. Shortly after Bode was born, as Mamas Uncut previously reported, the mom of two took to Instagram to get real about how she was feeling just days after giving birth.
She wrote at the time, “Despite the physical pains, I know these weeks of forced slow-down are exactly what my body and heart needs. REST. I’m letting go of the pressure to rush back into working out, my social life, household chores, my pre-pregnancy clothes, or any kind of commitment that conflicts with recovery and rest.”
Audrey and her husband, James, as well as their daughter, Ember, welcomed Bode into the world on January 8. He weighed 9.2 pounds at birth.
And as Audrey told her fans, Ember absolutely loves being a big sister. “She is just the sweetest big sister already. She’s so eager to take care of him and give him lots of lovies.”
