Reality star Ashley Cain and his partner Safiyya Vorajee are mourning the loss of their 8-month-old daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, shortly after her being born on October 8, 2020, Azaylia was diagnosed with Leukemia.
And the baby girl, despite being barely a few months old, fought with strength one never expects an infant to have. Sadly, on April 21, 2021, Azaylia’s battle came to an end when she passed away surrounded by her loving mom and dad.
Shortly before Azaylia’s passing, their community put together a memorial in the sky for the baby girl, to let her know they and the rest of the world were rooting “Let’s Go Champ” after doctors gave her only days to live. Cain took to Instagram to thank those who have supported them during this difficult journey.
“We got surprised today with a plane flying over our house to create a heart in the sky for our brave and beautiful little princess Azaylia,” Cain wrote at the time.
He then added that while he is overwhelmed by the mark his 8-month-old daughter has left on the world, he was feeling broken, knowing there was nothing he could do to save his pride and joy.
“I feel broken, scared, and worried all of the time. But I am finding strength in trying to be the best father I can be, no matter the situation, for her. That is the least she deserves and the most I can give her, the best me I can be. There is one thing for certain though, I couldn’t be a prouder dad and a more blessed human to have such an incredible daughter.”

Four days later, Azaylia would take her final breath. Now, both Cain and Vorajee are remembering their daughter publicly for the first time since her passing.
“Rest In Paradise, Princess,” Cain wrote alongside a picture of him holding his baby girl tight. “I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven.”
And Vorajee shared a similar photo along with the words, “You are my Angel, my heartbeat, my soul. RIP, my precious baby, you will always be with me like a handprint on my heart.”

And the parents made every last moment with Azaylia count. From getting to meet her cousin for the first time to every snuggle, nap, and outdoor stroll, the family of three soaked every second of it in.
Like Cain wrote on Instagram just days before her passing, it’s so important not to “count the days, but to make the days count.” Our thoughts and prayers are with Cain and Vorajee during this extremely difficult time.
