Angela Johnson Attempting to Regain Custody of Chloe Chrisley, Who is Currently Under the Care of Savannah Chrisley

When Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison last month, most people wondered what would happen to Chloe Chrisley – the daughter of their estranged son, Kyle Chrisley. Todd and Julie gained custody of Chloe and later adopted her due to legal and criminal issues with both parents.

Kyle Chrisley has long struggled with mental health and drug addiction, suiting him incapable of raising his child – at which point Todd and Julie stepped in. They originally shared custody with Angela Johnson, Chloe’s biological mother, but that changed when she was arrested for Medicaid fraud back in 2016.

Now that Todd and Julie Chrisley are on their way to prison, their daughter Savannah Chrisley has taken custody of Chloe – as well as Grayson, the couple’s youngest son. To complicate matters, Johnson is now attempting to regain custody of her daughter and is in the process of filing the necessary papers.

“As of right now, I haven’t filed any legal papers but I am in the process of getting some legal papers filed so I can go back to court and get Chloe back home,” said Angela Johnson, who seems intent on getting her daughter back. She added that matters were complicated when the Chrisley family moved in 2019.

Johnson currently lives in South Carolina, which is creating a slew of jurisdictional problems with the Chrisley family, who moved from Atlanta to Nashville a few years ago. Now with Todd and Julie going to prison, and Savannah gaining custody of Chloe, Johnson is stepping up her efforts to get Chloe back.

Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of bank fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to defraud the IRS – while Julie was also found guilty of wire fraud. After a long legal battle that dates back to 2019, Todd was recently sentenced to 12 years in prison, and his wife, Julie, was sentenced to seven years in prison.

In addition to their prison sentences, both Todd and Julie will face 16 months of probation following the sentence. This means Todd will be behind bars until approximately 2035, while Julie will get out around 2030. Along with Chloe, Savannah Chrisley is gaining custody of her younger brother, Grayson.

Chloe Chrisley Fully Understands What’s Happening With Her Family

Savannah Chrisley has been very vocal since learning of her parents’ sentencing, opening up about the situation on her Unlocked podcast several times in the past few weeks – including episodes with her mother and father. Despite the sentence, the Chrisley siblings are standing by in support of their parents.

In a recent podcast episode with Savannah and Julie, the two talked about Chloe Chrisley and how she’s handling the uncertainty in her life. While she’s just 10 years old, it appears she’s fully aware of everything going on inside the family and is constantly listening to the conversations happening around her.

“She listens. She listens more than you think. She’ll put on her headphones and act like she is listening to something when in reality nothing’s on,” said Savannah before her mother chimed in. “So, you think she’s listening [to something else], when really she’s just listening to the conversation,” added Julie.
