Bravo host Andy Cohen is not happy about President Donald J. Trump‘s latest anti-surrogacy nominee for federal judge for the U.S. District Court in St. Louis.
On December 4, Sarah Pitlyk‘s nomination was approved by the Senate. As The Washington Post reports, Pitlyk was criticized for her “lack of trial experience” and her stance against “abortion, surrogacy, and in vitro fertilization.”

Cohen Slams Sarah Pitlyk’s Anti-Surrogacy Stance
As many of Cohen’s fans already know, Cohen became a father earlier this year thanks to surrogacy. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, his son, Benjamin, was even recently named People’s Cutest Baby Alive.
During a segment of his show Watch What Happens Live, called Jackhole Of The Day, Cohen slammed the confirmation of Judge Pitlyk. He said, “Tonight’s Jackhole goes to Sarah Pitlyk, who was confirmed as a federal judge by the Senate today with a lifetime appointment to the U.S. District Court in my home state of Missouri.”
He continued:
“She spent the bulk of her career aggressively going after the rights of people to use fertility treatments and surrogacy. Meaning if you are one of the millions of couples who are struggling to conceive, or who have turned to surrogacy to start a family like I did to have Ben, you are totally screwed on this woman’s watch.”
He went on to talk about the fact that Pitlyk has never tried a case in federal court before being appointed a federal judge. “In fact, when the American Bar Association rated her not qualified for this role, they said she had never participated at any stage of a criminal matter.”
According to The Washington Post, William Hubbard, chair of the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, said of Pitlyk in a letter sent to lawmakers:
“Ms. Pitlyk has never tried a case as lead or co-counsel, whether civil or criminal. She has never examined a witness. Though Ms. Pitlyk has argued one case in a court of appeals, she has not taken a deposition. She has not argued any motion in a state or federal trial court. She has never picked a jury. She has never participated at any stage of a criminal matter.”
The Washington Post also reports that Pitlyk believes surrogacy “is harmful to mothers and children and is a practice society should not be enforcing.”
Cohen added, “What she has done is made this country a less safe and fair place for people whose greatest wish is to have a family, and I think that ought to be a crime.”
The host then sent a message to Pitlyk, saying, “I got a shipment of poopy diapers coming your way, on behalf of my son. This pisses me off.”
According to Creative Family Connections, surrogacy is still illegal in Louisiana, Michigan, and New York. However, it’s like Cohen pointed out if it weren’t for surrogacy, many families today wouldn’t be families.
