New reports are revealing that Andrew Tate, the controversial social media influencer, has been arrested.
According to TMZ, Tate was in Romania when he was allegedly detained. The news was first reported by a Romanian publication known as Libertatea.
Controversial Social Media Star Andrew Tate Reportedly Arrested
Libertatea reported that Andrew and his brother were both seen in handcuffs being escorted out of a building. They are allegedly facing charges of kidnapping and rape.
One of Tate’s last Twitter posts was directed at environmental advocate and activist Greta Thunberg. Tate tagged Greta in a tweet in which he bragged about his 33 cars and their “enormous emissions.”
Thunberg responded with a dig of her own to which many people applauded. You can see the interaction between the two below.
Tate made a name for himself over the last year with his barbaric look at life. Tate had leaned into misogyny and violence and quickly gain millions of views for his obnoxious opinions.
According to The Daily Mirror, Tate was allegedly tracked down by authorities after he posted a video response to Thunberg’s tweet. The speculation, per TMZ, is that the pizza boxes seen in the video led authorities to where Tate was hiding.
In a statement from Tate’s spokesperson given to The Daily Mirror, they said, “We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained; however, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can.”

The New York Post reports that Tate and his brother allegedly held women against their will and “sexually exploited them.” Upon their arrest, police reportedly discovered guns, a hatchet, swords, stacks of money, and more.
