Anderson Cooper is loving every minute of being a dad, but wishes he had done it sooner.
The CNN host appeared on SiriusXM’s Quarantined with Bruce last week to chat with host Bruce Bozzi about his life with son Wyatt Morgan.

“I don’t think I would have made the decision if I didn’t feel I was really ready, and I definitely feel like this is absolutely what I should be doing. I wish I had done it sooner,” he told Bruce. “I’ve been able to spend whole days, all my time with him really, during this pandemic. It’s been amazing.”
“I’ve never woken up early in the morning, but I now bolt out of bed at 7 without an alarm clock and I want to be there when he wakes up at 8:45,” said Cooper about his new dad schedule. “I just love every aspect of it. It’s truly the greatest thing ever. I feel like what was I doing before? I don’t know.”
Cooper welcomed Wyatt on April 27 via surrogate. He is now co-parenting the baby with his ex-partner Benjamin Maisani and has excitedly adjusted to life as a new dad.
“There’s something about having a child that makes you feel connected to what is happening and you want to make sure that the world this child is growing up in is a better one. You suddenly worry much more about the future of all of us,” he told People after welcoming Wyatt.
Cooper would be open to having another child he told the magazine, though he joked he needed to wait a bit.
“I need to probably sleep a little bit more and clear my head, but I think it would be great, one day, to have a brother or sister for Wyatt,” he said.
