Anderson Cooper’s Baby Boy Is No Longer an Only Child

Just 20 hours ago, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper post a photo of himself and his son. The photo showed Cooper giving his son, Wyatt Morgan Cooper, a kiss on the forehead while Wyatt laid his head on his father’s chest.

The father-and-son duo seemed to be enjoying the book, Goodnight Moon. Anderson captioned the photo, writing, “Nothing is better than this.”

However, little did many people know is that this was one of the last photos taken of Wyatt while he was an only child. During Cooper’s daily segment on CNN, the new anchor revealed that he is now a father of two.

At the top of Anderson Cooper 360, Cooper shared the good and personal news with his audience. “In April 2020, in the early dark days of the pandemic, you may recall I announced the birth of my son Wyatt. Well, this is Wyatt today,” Cooper said alongside a recent photo of his oldest son. “He’s nearly 22 months old and he is sweet and funny and the greatest joy in my life.”

As Cooper revealed, Wyatt looks particularly happy in that picture because it was taken just as he became a big brother. “His name is Sebastian,” Cooper said of his newborn son with a big smile on his face.

“This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was 6.8 pounds at birth and he is healthy and happy. Even his occasional hiccups are, to me, adorable.”

Again, as Cooper did after welcoming Wyatt into the world, revealed he did so alongside his best friend and former partner, Benjamin Maisani. “We are co-parents,” Cooper said. “Wyatt calls me ‘daddy,’ and Benjamin is ‘Papa’.”

As Cooper continued, they are a family and Benjamin is in the process of also adopting Wyatt. They have made the decision to change Wyatt’s last name to Maisani-Cooper, as well.

Wyatt has been very involved in the process of preparing for the arrival of his little brother and Cooper says Wyatt calls Sebastian by his middle name, Luke.”

Cooper thanked the doctors and nurses who aided in their son’s safe arrival and also the surrogate who brought their baby boy into the world. How amazing!

Congratulations to Anderson, Benjamin, and their family of, now, four!
