Looking for some good news during this pandemic? Amy Schumer‘s baby boy is already 1-years-old and that my friends, is worth celebrating.
Schumer regularly would poke fun throughout her pregnancy due to sharing a due date with the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle as they were expecting at the same time. Ultimately, Schumer ended up giving birth to her and husband Chris Fischer‘s first child, Gene, just a few hours prior to Archie Harrison‘s arrival.
“10:55 pm last night,” the comedian posted to Instagram on May 6, 2019, with the perfect caption: “Our royal baby was born.”
And now 12 months later, Schumer wished her son’s very 1st birthday in a simple but heart warming way.
“I’m really glad it was you,” she captioned a photo of them snoozing. “Hbd.”

And while the baby boy is growing in size, that is not the only aspect of his life that has changed.
Just last month, Schumer announced they had decided to change his middle name for…..pronunciation purposes.
“So do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name is officially changed?” she asked her listeners on her podcast, Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith.

“It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer but we realized that we by accident named our son, ‘genital.'”
But besides the quirky error, Schumer is adoring motherhood.
“The hype is real. Believe the hype,” she revealed to E! News of motherhood just six months after he was born. “I’m so lucky.”
