When it comes to hearing her son say his first words, comedian Amy Schumer is loving every moment of watching her son’s vocabulary get broader. First, Gene David Attell said the word “mom,” and now it’s “dad.”
Sixteen months ago, Schumer became a mother for the first time and she’s absolutely loving it. From creating an entire documentary around her pregnancy to sharing special little moments with her fans on social media, being a mom agrees with Schumer.

Amy Schumer’s Reaction to Son Saying ‘Dad’ Is Hysterical
Most recently, Schumer shared the most adorable video of little Gene on her Instagram account. The video showed her little man saying the word “dad” for the first time.
As it relays in the video, Schumer was recording her and her son cheersing each other so that she could send it to her husband, and Gene’s dad, celebrity chef Chris Fischer. In the video, Schumer asks Gene to say dad and after a little bit of thought, Gene sweetly gives in to his mom’s request.
And Schumer’s reaction to Gene saying “dad” for the first time completely takes her by surprise! However, all of the excitement overwhelmed Gene who then gets almost as emotional as Amy was.
“This video was clearly a surprise to us. Getting to experience these first moments with my son makes me feel so lucky,” the proud mom captioned the video, while also urging people to educate themselves on the 2010 shooting death of DJ Henry, who was shot and killed by a police officer in 2010.
