It has been eight years since Ambyr Childers and Randall Emmett legally separated and nearly five years since the couple’s divorce was made official. Nonetheless, their relationship continues to nosedive beyond repair as new allegations and threats are discovered in court.
The latest development involves Childers seeking legal protection against Emmett by filing a request for a domestic violence restraining order in an LA court – this was confirmed by E! News, who obtained the court documents. Apparently, things are heating up between the two.
The Aquarius and You actress married Emmett, a film producer, in 2009. The couple share two daughters together – 12-year-old London, who was born in 2010, and 8-year-old Rylee, born in 2013. The two split in 2015 and divorced in 2017 as Emmett started a new life with Lala Kent.

In her petition for a restraining order, Childers cited a ‘legitimate fear for [her] safety and well-being.’ She had recently sent an email to Emmett regarding a complaint from their daughter’s school – apparently, their daughters were consistently late under his supervision.
Emmett eventually responded to the email, but he attached copies of emails between himself and his family lawyer, Ben Valencia – it hasn’t been confirmed if they were sent on purpose or by accident. Nonetheless, the messages included potential threats directed toward Childers.
One of the emails showed a message sent by Valencia, asking Emmett, “When will you get some real money together so we can take this c—t out once and for all? This is not good for your girls.” Emmett responded to the message, saying he didn’t have the “real money” for that.
It’s unclear what the two meant by taking Childers ‘out once and for all,’ but she was clearly taken back by his choice of words. ‘With Randy’s history of illegal and/or intimidating activity, nothing is off the table, and all possible interpretations make me fear for my safety,’ said Ambyr.
Judge Denies Ambyr Childers’ Petition for Emergency Temporary Order
In the court documents, Ambyr Childers explains the history of abuse she encountered while married to Randall Emmett – including emotional and verbal abuse. She went on to say he “would put his hand around my neck and tell me that I could never get away from him.”
Over the past couple of years, their relationship has only gotten worse. Emmett hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on Childers in an effort to take her down. This was confirmed when she found a tracking device on her car – something Emmett admitted to, according to Childers.
She also detailed several instances where Emmett behaved inappropriately toward women and mentioned his alleged ties to an LAPD officer – adding that she fears for her life. In the court documents, she fears her ex “may retaliate against me based on his past behavior.”
Despite the legitimate cause for concern given the nature of their relationship, a judge denied Ambyr Childers’ petition for an emergency temporary order – citing a lack of proof over her allegations. A hearing is scheduled for November 14th, however, which might change things.

Randall Emmett was engaged to Lala Kent for three years between 2018 and 2021. They had a daughter in March 2021 before splitting in October 2021. Their relationship went sour after he was seen cheating on Kent with several women. She also cited abuse during their engagement.
