Former actress Amanda Bynes has made headlines in recent years for her personal troubles. And now that she is engaged, the Hairspray star is speaking out about the terms of her conservatorship.
After the 33-year-old actress was admitted to a drug and mental health rehab facility a few years ago, her mother took control over her finances and affairs, E! News reports. Amanda is currently continuing outpatient treatment and it has been reported that her conservatorship is set to last until at least August of this year.
The She’s The Man star took to Instagram to vent about her medical treatment costs. “Today I want to talk about a controversial topic: My conservatorship case. I have been going to a treatment center that charges $5,200 a month,” Amanda said in the since-deleted post.

“There’s no reason why I shouldn’t go to a therapist who takes my insurance for $5,000 less a month. This is why I’ve asked to see the judge next week regarding this conservatorship issue.” She went on to thank her fans for their ongoing support:
“Thank you so much, guys, for hearing me out. I’m sorry that this is what I’m dealing with and I’m sorry that I put my problems onto the Internet, but this is what life has come to. So thank you guys so much for always supporting me. Love you all. Peace out. I appreciate your love and support. Love you guys! Bye!”
This comes after Amanda announced her engagement to her fiancé, Paul Michael, on Instagram. According to E! News, the pair met in rehab and have been dating for a few months. However, shortly after the news of their engagement broke, rumors suggest that the engagement has already ended, Page Six reports.

Micheal told Page Six that the reason why all of their Instagram posts were deleted was because both of them were hacked. “Both of our instas got hacked and someone deleted our pictures and sent DMs [direct messages] saying we broke up. We never broke up and weren’t able to log into our Instagrams until last night.”
A source also shared with E! News that “Amanda’s parents are fully aware of her engagement and at this point are not approving Amanda to legally get married under the conservatorship.” Here’s hoping that Amanda and her family can come to an agreement and the actress continues to get the help that she needs.
