Shortly after Nick Cannon and model Bre Tiesi revealed they are expecting a child together, much of the focus turned to fellow model Alyssa Scott. Scott and Cannon also shared a son, Zen, who they welcomed into the world in June 2021.
Sadly, Zen passed away at just five months old in December 2021. Zen had battled a brain tumor that was discovered shortly after his birth. As Scott shared they learned in August that Zen’s “time on this earth would be limited.”
The news that Cannon and Tiesi are expecting his 8th child surprised many, particularly because he was just recently grieving the loss of his youngest child. Now, Scott is speaking out following Cannon’s latest baby news.

“I want to thank every single person who has messaged or thought of me over the course of these last few months. I always say Zen expanded my heart in ways I never thought possible,” Scott began her statement.
“He filled that space with compassion, knowing I would need that most. It is painful having my son be a part of conversations that aren’t in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn’t something I chose for him or myself. It’s important for me to let you all know, I am centered. I am at peace.”
As Scott continued, she revealed that she looks “at everyone’s predicament with loving eyes. I will not judge. I will consciously decide what I will participate in. I am surrounded by love. God, my mom, dad, sister, brother, and daughter continue to carry me.”
As Nick Cannon revealed in his baby announcement, he knew about Bre’s pregnancy since before his son, Zen, passed away. He admitted that because of those conflicting moments in life, he struggled with when it was the right time to share the news of his 8th child.
“I wanted to definitely respect the grieving process with Alyssa and Bre was respectful enough to hold off and making her announcements and speaking on social media,” Nick Cannon explained. “It was one of those things, I didn’t know what to do.”

Cannon added that even this announcement wasn’t supposed to happen yet. But due to paparazzi photos, they were forced into this situation.
Bre also addressed the situation she and Nick found themselves in due to the rushed nature of their announcement. “Given the recent announcement regarding my pregnancy, I would like to address a few things,” Bre began.
“From the day that I found out I was pregnant, I was over the moon excited and filled with joy. I am still incredibly excited and eager to be a mommy. I purposefully kept my pregnancy private for various personal reasons, and am horrified that his precious moment was exploited and plastered all over TMZ. This was not how I hoped to share this news especially given that I’ve been able to protect this news for almost my entire pregnancy.”
Nonetheless, Bre said, while this moment didn’t pan out exactly as she had hoped, she thanked those who have been there for her and noted that she “can not wait to meet her son.”
At the end of his personal announcement, Nick Cannon also called out his haters and doubters. He then vowed to be the best father he can be to his seven earth-side children.
