Allison Holker reveals how she introduced her children to new boyfriend: ‘It was really fun’

It has only been one month since Allison Holker went public with her new romance, but she’s already sharing some of the adorable behind-the-scenes of her relationship with tech CEO Adam Edmunds.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE at the Rookie Kids Fashion Show on Sept. 26, the 36-year-old detailed the moment her three children got to meet Edmunds for the first time. It was at Universal Studios.

“It was really fun. And we just shared a lot of laughter and a lot of memories, and it was actually a really fun way to start out,” she said, adding that “it was really cool” and they were “having a lot of fun together.”

Holker shares three children – daughters Weslie, 16, and Zaia, 4, and son Maddox, 8 – with her late husband, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who died in Dec. 2022.

Holker first revealed that she had a new beau on August 28, when she posted an Instagram photo of her holding someone’s hand, but it was unclear who the mystery man was since it only showed their shadows.

The big reveal happened just days later when the couple stepped out together for New York Fashion Week and the US Open. Now, she’s finally opening up about how the relationship came to be.

The relationship is still very much new, but Edmunds has already gained the blessing of Holker’s eldest daughter, Weslie, who was adopted by Boss in 2013, shortly after he and Holker got married the same year.

In her own interview with PEOPLE, Weslie spoke very highly of her mother’s new boyfriend.

“Every time I’ve been around him, there’s never like a dull moment because they’re so fun together,” she explained. “This is a good guy. I like him, and as long as my mom’s happy, I don’t mind what happens.”

According to Holker, Weslie has been supportive of the relationship from the very beginning. In fact, she’s the one who encouraged her mother to start dating again.

“Weslie was actually the one that said to me that I should open up my heart to someone,” Holker told PEOPLE. “And that helped me a lot to feel like it was okay to be vulnerable and find love again.”

While Holker is very excited about her new romance and grateful to be opening up again after the tragedy her family experienced in 2022, she’s still dedicated to being a mother first and foremost.

“For myself and for my children, I want to always protect them, first and foremost, make sure that they feel safe and protected, and they’re my number one priority,” she said of finding a new balance in her life.

She went on to add that they’re all “trying to find this new way together,” but is thankful that everyone’s being “very patient and loving and supportive during this time.”

Holker also explained that her new romance won’t impact the love she still has for her late husband.

“I had such a beautiful love with Stephen, and I still have such a beautiful love with him. But the love I learned has only helped me to be even better in my next love,” she said in an interview earlier this month.

She feels “even more suited now in this next step in my life” and is looking forward to seeing what this new chapter has in store for her family.
