On Sept. 16, popular weatherman Al Roker and his wife journalist Deborah Roberts celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary.
In his first post about the monumental day, Roker admitted that the last 29 years have gone “by pretty fast,” but wasn’t sure if Roberts “would agree.”
“Happy Anniversary to an amazing wife, friend, mom, journalist and incredible life partner who made sure I survived my crisis a year and a half ago,” he continued, alluding to his health battle in 2022.
“Though I’m sure I give her pause to reconsider that from time to time,” Roker joked. “Thanks for not pulling the plug. I love you.”
Roker later returned to Instagram to share another photo of him and his wife today, compared to them on their wedding day.
Roker, who has been open about his health journey and weight loss over the years, poked fun at his appearance on his wedding day.
“When you see you what I looked like 29 years ago, it’s even more amazing Deborah married me,” he joked. “Here’s to a woman who has questionable taste and even more questionable eyesight.”
In the comments, Roberts accosted her husband for the self deprecating joke, writing, “Stop that! I would do it all over again!”
“She married you for YOU!! The man you are inside and out! And 29 years later it’s still working! Happy Anniversary,” a commenter encouraged.
“She chose you because you have a good heart,” another added.
“Same guy inside and that’s what counts,” read another comment.
Since marrying in 1995, Roker and Roberts welcomed two children into the world, Leila and Nick. Roker also has a daughter from a previous relationship, Courtney.
