Now, as People reports, the actress is reportedly pregnant with her second child. The father is allegedly Hamilton director, Thomas Kail. The couple is also engaged to be married.
Michelle Williams Reportedly Engaged to Thomas Kail, Expecting Second Child
News of the pregnancy and engagement come over a year after Williams married Indie musician Phil Elverum. According to Vanity Fair, Williams and Elverum secretly got married in the summer of 2018. Vanity Fair wrote:
“By the time you read this, she and her partner, singer-songwriter Phil Elverum, whom she met through a mutual friend, will have been married in a secret ceremony in the Adirondacks, witnessed by only a handful of friends and their two daughters.”
However, as People reported less than a year later, the former couple separated earlier this year in 2019. It’s unclear when Williams and Kail first got together, or how far along she is in her reported pregnancy.
And odds are that information will be kept a secret for as long as possible. The soon-to-be mom of two, though one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, is known for being notoriously private. Williams, who is currently filming Venom 2, and Kail were recently photographed buying baby clothes together in London, People reports.

The couple reportedly met while she was filming Fosse/Verdon, which Kail directed. As Vulture points out, “Fosse/Verdon is a miniseries about the romantic relationship between a celebrated director and an iconic actress. See? Sometimes life imitates art in a good way!”
Neither Williams or Kail have personally commented on the news of their engagement or pregnancy going public.
