Greyson Chance Performs Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”
In 2010, Greyson Chance sat at a piano for his sixth grade music concert and performed a cover of Lady Gaga’s hit song “Paparazzi.” The performance was recorded and, after being uploaded to YouTube, soon went viral. Chance performed on the Ellen DeGeneres show and was soon signed to her record label, ElevenEleven and recorded his first album. It’s fair to say that the viral video launched Chance’s career.
The Bed Intruder Song
Sometimes the local news gives you such gems. In this video by WAFF-48 in Alabama, Kelly Dodson talks about how a man snuck into her room to attack her. The video’s most notable quote is “Y’all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband ’cause they’re rapin’ everybody out here.” The Gregory Brothers then remixed the clip to create the Bed Intruder song.
Double Rainbow
After watching the double rainbow video, we were constantly on the lookout for our own double rainbow sighting. The video features a guy who’s seemingly in the middle of hike spotting a double rainbow. He’s overcome with emotion after the sighting and asks the question, “What does it mean?!”
Tik Tok Ke$ha Parody
Before there was Tik Tok the app, there was Tik Tok the song by Ke$sha. This video, which raked up more than 57 million views since being posted, is a parody of that hit song by Key of Awe$some and pokes fun at Ke$sha’s bad girl image.
Annoying Orange Wazzup
We remember watching the Budweiser Wazzup ad during the SuperBowl and getting that phrase stuck in our heads for what felt like months afterward. This video is a riff on that popular ad featuring Annoying Orange with his friends banana, lemon, kiwi, and apple.
Justin Bieber Makes 3-Year-Old Cry
There was a time that Justin Bieber made girls of all ages cry and this video of a three-year-old moved to tears by Biebs took off in 2010, drawing more than 30 million viewers to date.
Katy Perry’s Controversial Sesame Street Visit
Katy Perry’s visit to Sesame Street certainly didn’t go unnoticed in 2010. After the episode aired, parents wrote in to voice their concern over Perry’s outfit being inappropriate for young viewers. Ultimately, Sesame Street pulled the spot, but it now lives on forever on YouTube.
The Old Spice Ad
Another notable ad from the SuperBowl, the Old Spice guy ad became a viral video because it almost seemed like a mockery of the brand. In addition to a shirtless man, there are diamonds and horse all trying to tell you how amazing you’ll smell with Old Spice.

In 2010, Cali Swag District released “Teach Me How to Dougie,” launching hundreds of YouTube videos literally teaching people this popular dance move that many attempted to master.
