WATCH: Kim Kardashian Struggles with Questions of Mortality After North West’s Hamster Dies

Celebrities… they’re just like us. That’s right, even Kim Kardashian has to explain the harsh reality of a beloved pet’s death to her little ones. In a clip from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim discovers that her 5-year-old daughter North’s pet hamster, Blacktail West, has passed away.

In the clip, Kim is confronted by her assistant after he notices that the furry friend isn’t moving.  “I don’t have time for a dead hamster,” Kim says. “Maybe he’s sleeping,” says the exasperated mama of four. No such luck, unfortunately.

Realizing the weight of the news that she’s going to have to deliver, Kim stresses over how to break it to her oldest child. “North is gonna be really, really upset. It’s just not fair. How do I go and explain this? What do I do?”

Adding to the drama is the fact that her sister, Khloé Kardashian purchased little Blacktail without her permission.

“It’s the first time [North has] really, really loved an animal more than her dog. She’s still into it, and I don’t know what to do. It’s just this kind of sh*t I can’t deal with. This is why you don’t get someone a pet. Don’t ever do this to me again, I literally hate you,” Kim tells Khloé. And you know what? Fair!

In other fur-related news, the beauty mogul announced on Instagram that she has had all of her favorite fur coats remade into faux fur. North seems to have moved on from the loss and is pictured modeling one of the remakes in the photo, below.

Do you think Kim Kardashian handled the dead hamster drama well? How would you explain to your child that their favorite pet had passed away? Sound off in the comments!
