A mom was trying to do what she could to make her son’s fifth birthday party a special one while her family remains socially distant from others. As the mom, who goes by the username Nosilla865 on TikTok, revealed, her son has down syndrome.
So in order to be as safe as possible but still let her son know there are people around him who care, she planned a “drive-by” party for him. “Drive-by” parties have become quite popular during COVID-19. Basically, it’s a party where people stay quarantined in their cars while driving by the person of honor’s house beeping their horns and waving to celebrate the special moment.
However, as Nosilla865 revealed on TikTok, out of all the people she invited to the party, only one person should up to celebrate her little boy. The mom captioned the emotional black and white video saying, “The worst day. My heart is broken. Please raise your littles to be kind.”

“My son has Down syndrome, and when he didn’t realize what was going on, that hurt,” the mom said in her video. “But what happens when he knows? What happens when he knows that he’s purposely being left out?”
The video quickly received over seven million views with thousands of commenters asking the mom to make sure her little boy, Jude, gets a birthday wish from them while simultaneously expressing how sorry they are her son how to endure this kind of exclusion.
“I am so sorry. Please please please tell him Happy Birthday for me,” one commenter wrote. “It breaks my heart when people don’t consider others. Tell your little guy happy birthday for me,” another added.
In a subsequent video, Nosilla865 expressed how thankful she was for all the kind comments and support. She then later shared a third video which showed her son enjoying some chocolate ice cream.

Mom Heartbroken Only 1 Showed Up for Son’s Drive-by Party

In a fourth video, Nosilla865 promised those who were heartbroken by Jude’s story that his birthday was still a success even if only one person showed up. “Jude’s birthday was awesome despite my sobbing. He did not know I was upset. And we had a great time. We had balloons, we had bubbles, we had music! We kind of had a dance party in the front yard.”
And as for those asking her to start a P.O. Box so that they could personally send Jude gifts, the mom shared that she would rather donations to non-profits be made in honor of Jude. Non-profits like the organization known as Ruby’s Rainbows.
“The goal and mission at Ruby’s Rainbow is to grant scholarships to adults with Down syndrome who are seeking post-secondary education, enrichment or vocational classes, helping them achieve their dreams of higher education while spreading awareness of their capabilities and general awesomeness.”
