On the season finale of Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, Amy makes a Watermelon Vodka Punch Bowl and it’s the drink we all need right now!
To take a step back, the entire Amy Schumer Learns to Cook series is fantastic. There are cooking shows that make everything look easy and perfect, but this is something different. Amy creates recycled cardboard signs to show what they will be cooking each episode. She drops things on the floor. Amy throws food in a pot and then runs away in fear of hot water. Sometimes she wants to use an appliance, but the closest outlet is far away from the kitchen island where the cooking takes place.Â

Amy Schumer Keeps It Real
Nothing about this cooking show is perfect, thus everything about it is perfect. Amy’s husband Chris Fischer, an actual chef, teaches her to cook and Amy makes cocktails. On the final episode of the second season, Amy and Chris make a watermelon vodka punch bowl using three simple ingredients. It’s such a great idea – easy and fun. Even if you’re not having a party anytime soon, this is something refreshing you can do at home with your spouse or friend after a long week!
Steps for Amy Schumer’s Watermelon Vodka Punch Bowl
Get a small/medium size watermelon, and slightly cut a small amount of the green off the bottom to make it stand up without rolling around. Then, cut about 2-3 inches off of the top.
Start to take out some of the fruit with a spoon. On the show, Chris uses a rice paddle, but this doesn’t work out so well when some watermelon goes flying off the paddle.
At this point, if you have an immersion blender, you can just blend the fruit right in the watermelon. I don’t have one, so I just scooped it into my regular blender, blended, and poured about ¾ of it back into the watermelon.
Now the fun part – fill the rest of the watermelon bowl with vodka and stir.
Ladle it into a glass full of ice, smack some mint leaves and garnish! Chris and Amy say to make sure you smack the mint to release the oils and flavor! You can find the full recipe here on the Food Network’s site.
