There’s not a lot in 2020 that makes us want to get out of bed in the morning, but Tori Roloff‘s love for her daughter, Lilah Ray, is one thing that does.
Ever since the Little People, Big World star welcomed her youngest child on Nov. 19, 2019, we have looked forward to the touching moments and updates Tori frequently shares about her family. And today that is especially true, as Tori posted an incredibly touching tribute to her daughter that will move you as much as it moved us.

Read Tori Roloff’s inspiring message for her daughter, Lilah, below.
“Daughter is such an intimidating word,” Roloff’s caption begins. And then:
“Daughter is such an intimidating word. There is so much meaning behind the word daughter. So much hope. So much responsibility. So much love. I pray I’m the mother you deserve Lilah. I love you so much it hurts sometimes. I want to be the best role model for you. I want to live my life as best I can just to show you how good life can be and is. As long as you keep smiling Lilah Girl- that’s enough for me. “You’re going to do wondrous things my little minnow.” I can see it already.”

What is not to love about that message? What mother or parent cannot relate to, “I love you so much it hurts sometimes”? What a message! What a moment! Excuse us while we pull ourselves together.
Tori concluded her caption with a reference to Moana, quoting a scene in which Moana’s mother, Sina, tells her daughter, “And you’ll do wondrous things, my little minnow.”
Things seem to be going well for the Roloffs. After the season finale of Little People, Big World aired this spring, the family has mostly kept it low-key, occasionally sharing sweet photos of their adventures together over the summer.
Last month, Lilah turned 8-months-old. She will be 9-months-old on in just a week, on August 19! Tori shared a sweet photo set of Lilah to commemorate her daughter’s 8-month milestone, and we hope she keeps up the tradition for Month 9.
But of course, nothing is ever only sunshine, roses, and sweet family moments. In another post from July of 2020, Tori addressed a slew of commenters and mom-shamers who had apparently been demanding she speak on certain issues in certain ways.
“I am not responsible for teaching the world anything about dwarfism or a pandemic or any other global issue,” she said in an Instagram post at the time.
“I did not chose [sic] to be in the public eye,” she added. “I fell in love and I chose my husband then and I choose him every day since. This all comes along with him and our family and I feel like I’ve done a damn good job of being the best I can be.
I don’t owe you anything. You don’t own me. You can’t manipulate me. This is my instagram and I can choose what I want to share.”
Though the posts addressing commenters and her daughter may seem unrelated, we can see how Tori may have spent some time recently thinking about the “intimidating” act of raising a daughter, especially in the public eye, and what the prioritization of her responsibilities should be. For that and so many other things, we applaud her. Keep it up, mama! Baby Lilah is a lucky, lucky girl!
