Rapper Nicki Minaj‘s husband had to go through a few extra steps in order to ensure he would be able to see his child being born sometime this year. According to TMZ, because Kenneth Petty is a registered sex offender, he has a specific curfew.
In 1995, Petty was charged with first-degree attempted rape while living in New York, and ever since he has been required to register as a sex offender. However, after moving to California with his bride, Petty never registered and as a result, he was arrested.

Petty ultimately pled not guilty. And on top of having a curfew, he also had a travel restriction imposed on him. He is not allowed to leave the state of California.
However, due to the curfew the judge imposed on him, Kenneth and Nicki grew concerned about what would happen if she went into labor outside of the hours he is allowed outside their home. As TMZ reported, Petty had to get approval from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the pretrial services office before asking a judge to sign off on his request to be able to be at the hospital with Nicki when she goes into labor, no matter the time of day.
It has now been reported that on July 31, a judge granted Petty’s requests. Now he can be in the room with his wife when she ultimately gives birth and he can travel with Nicki on business trips as her manager. It’s unclear if these business trips in question are restricted to only a certain amount of time given his criminal record.
Nonetheless, it seems like the couple no longer has anything to worry about in terms of being apart when their little bundle of joy makes their way into the world. Minaj and Petty just confirmed the news of their pregnancy on Instagram on July 20.

However, while she may have confirmed the fact that she is going to be a mom for the first time, Minaj did not reveal when her due date is or if she is having a boy or a girl.
