Pink Celebrates 8-Year-Old For Creating Her Very Own Face Mask

Pink recently shared a photo of her 8-year-old Willow‘s homemade face mask fashioned from a vintage T-shirt.

“My daughter made her first mask tonight. She’s pretty proud of herself for making something from scratch from an old billy idol t shirt I gave her, for taking her health into her own hands,” Pink wrote.

The caption continued: “I’m proud of her too for caring about others. I’m also proud she’s not growing up to be an idiot. Stay safe everyone! We love you all!”

Previously, Pink revealed that both she and 3-year-old son Jameson had tested positive for coronavirus after showing symptoms in March. Pink appeared virtually on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April, saying:

“We were told that our kids are gonna be OK. I think when people started explaining what this disease is, it was too early to be able to name it completely and tell everybody what to look for. It’s super real and it’s affecting not just people above 65 years old.”

When Pink discovered both she and her son were positive for the novel coronavirus, she shared the following heartfelt post to Instagram:

“Two weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative.”

“It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”

She went on to share how she would be donating $1 million dollars in total to support healthcare professionals as well as the city of Los Angeles.

“In an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day, I am donating $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of my mother, Judy Moore, who worked there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center.”

“Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”‘
