The story Lori Vallow told when she was asked where her son was has come to light. According to a new probable cause affidavit, obtained by East Idaho News, Idaho investigators are revealing how the mom was able to keep up with her lies.
According to a detective who spoke with Vallow’s friend, Melanie Gibb, Gibb told investigators that Vallow told her “she had arranged for JJ to go live with his grandma, Kay Woodcock.” She also claimed that she convinced Woodcock to take J.J. because she had cancer.

“Vallow further told Gibb she had told Kay that she had cancer in order to convince Kay Woodcock to take JJ. Vallow further elaborated to Gibb that she had traveled with JJ and handed him off to Kay in an airport.”
It was later learned that was all a lie as it was Woodcock who initially called police in Idaho to perform a wellness check on her grandson and later reported him missing. The last time Lori Vallow’s 7-year-old son J.J. Vallow and 17-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan were seen was in September 2019.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, J.J. was last seen on September 23, 2019, after Vallow reportedly pulled him out of school saying she was preparing to homeschool him, and Tylee was last seen of September 8, 2019 while on a trip to Yellowstone. Sadly, the bodies of J.J. and Tylee.
On July 1, Vallow was seen in court in tears after her new charges were read to her following the discovery of her children’s bodies. While attending her court hearing via a Zoom call, Vallow teared up as the judge asked her if she understood the charges against her. Vallow responded with a simple, “yes,” as she wiped away tears.
Vallow was charged with two felony charges of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, in December 2018, Lori started a podcast about her role “as a god preparing for the second coming of Christ.” She also told Gibb that she believed her children were “zombies.” Zombies reportedly “refers to an individual whose mortal spirit has left their body and that their body is now the host of another spirit.”
Daybell has been charged with two counts of destruction, alteration, and concealment of evidence. Both he and Vallow have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
