Kylie Jenner doesn’t just want a better future for her daughter, but she wants a better, more peaceful, more equitable future for all of the generations to come.
On May 25, citizens of Minnesota watched as a 46-year-old African American man named George Floyd died as a police officer who arrested him on the suspicion of attempting to use counterfeit money kneeled on his neck while he laid face down on the road in handcuffs.

For most of the eight minutes and 46 seconds Floyd begged for the officer to move his knee, voicing that he didn’t feel well, that he couldn’t breathe, and at one point, Floyd said, “I’m going to die” and calls out for his “mama,” The New York Times reports.
It is believed for the last almost three minutes the officer kneeled on Floyd’s neck he was unconscious. The 46-year-old was then taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead.
Officer Derek Chauvin has been fired and arrested on third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges. The other three officers at the scene were also fired. As of May 31, the three other officers have not been charged.

Now, millions around the world on sharing their thoughts on the horrific and tragic death of George Floyd. One of those people is reality star and billionaire beauty mogul, Kylie Jenner.
On May 29, Jenner took to her Instagram account to share a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. The quote read, “There comes a time when silence is betrayal.”
The mom of 2-year-old Stormi Webster, who she shares with her ex, rapper Travis Scott, also shared a few words of her own along with the quote by MLK.
“Since watching the most devastating and completely heartbreaking video showing the murder of George Floyd earlier this week I haven’t been able to get his face and his words out of my mind,” Jenner began her statement. “I’ll never personally experience the pain and fear that many black people around the country go through every day but I know nobody should have to live in fear and nobody deserves a death like George Floyd and too many others.”
“Speaking up is long overdue for the rest of us. We’re currently dealing with two horrific pandemics in our country, and we can’t sit back and ignore the fact that racism is one of them. I fear for my daughter and I hope for a better future for her. My heart breaks for George Floyd’s family and friends. Don’t let his name be forgotten. Keep sharing, keep watching, keep speaking out, because it’s the only way we can come together to help bring this much-needed change and awareness. Rest In Peace, George Floyd.”
Hundreds of Jenner’s followers thanked the mom of one for speaking out but also encouraged her to continue being both a spoken and active advocate for the African American community on behalf of her daughter, nieces, nephews, and so many more.
