Maren Morris Sets the Record Straight After Receiving Nasty Botox Comment

Maren Morris received a comment on a recent Instagram post and she shut it down with a quickness. The country singer posted a makeup-free selfie on Instagram that featured her holding her newborn. The critic wrote, “stop with the Botox.”

Morris gave birth to her first son, Hayes Andrew on March 23. And, the new mother does not have time for any haters.

Maren Morris shut down a critic on Instagram with the most relatable response.

Morris who has only been a mom for about a month replied that she’s keeping it real these days.

“Dude, I just went through a pregnancy and we’re in the middle of a quarantine. The Botox has long worn off,” Morris replied with a laughing emoji to punctuate her message.

However, most responses to the post were warm.

Morris recently performed for One World Together at Home for charity.

The virtual performance was part of a special that raised funds for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The fund supports local charities providing food, shelter, and healthcare for those who need it most as the health crisis continues.

The singer performed her hit single “The Bones” with Hozier all from a safe social distance. “Very honored and excited to be making a little appearance this weekend,” Morris said on her Instagram Story ahead of the performance.

The event was Morris’s first performance since giving birth.

The charity performance was Morris’s first performance since giving birth to her son. The birth did not go exactly to plan and she endured “30 hours of labor” that ended with “an emergency C-section,” she wrote in a previous post.

“Not what we planned but I learned pretty quickly that night that having a plan for bringing a human into the world is a fool’s errand,” Morris, who shares Hayes Andrew with husband Ryan Hurd, continued. “All that mattered was that he got here safely.”

Morris described her harrowing delivery experience in detail.

“Having him in the middle of a global health crisis was also not in the baby prep books, but here we are,” the star wrote, referring to the coronavirus pandemic. “Holding him and healing my body in a maternity ward that’s eerily quiet from us not being allowed visitors or family at this time, but strangely serene.”

“All we hear are monitors beeping and the coos of our infant son,” Morris shared. “Maybe the sound of the 100th episode of The Office @ryanhurd and I have binged while in here.”

We stan a relatable queen! While we might want Botox right now, the reality of this moment is that none of us are getting Botox. Morris shows us, yet again, that moms face so much vitriol online. All of it is completely unnecessary and unwarranted.

We hope that this growing family stays safe and healthy while they’re practicing social distancing. The uncertainties of this moment are hard on all of us, but parents and new parents are experiencing additional anxiety to ensure that their families are happy and healthy. We applaud Maren Morris for doing something actually productive with her time and raising money for such a good cause. Perhaps the troll that left the comment could learn a thing or two?
