Kourtney Kardashian Shows Off Her Stretch Marks in Instagram Photo, She’s Surprised by the Reaction It Gets

Kudos to Kourtney Kardashian for celebrating her stretch marks in a now-viral photograph. However, the reaction to her decision to show off her stretch marks on social media shocked her, the reality star admitted.

According to the mom-of-three, she never expected a swimsuit photo that she shared last year to gain so much attention, E! News reports. She recently sat down with Health to discuss the public’s reaction to her stripes.

“I was surprised by that,” Kourtney told the magazine. “I’ve had stretch marks since eighth or ninth grade on the side of my booty. I never cared about them—I like them!”

In the picture that was taken while she was on vacation, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is seen posing on a boat, in a black swimsuit, and a stylish sun hat. She even added the caption, “I love my little stripes.”

When asked about her healthy eating habits, Kourtney told the mag that she definitely indulges in treats, but there is one thing she prefers to stay away from entirely—a can of soda. “I would never open a can of soda. That’s just not where I would cheat. My mom has a good pantry in Palm Springs filled with Cheetos and Oreos and lots of junk foods. I definitely treat myself.”

Apparently, Kourtney and her sister Kim Kardashian share the same philosophy when it comes to indulging themselves every once in a while. “Kim and I did a road trip, and we stopped at a gas station and raided it—Funyuns, mini doughnuts, Chex Mix.”

Kourtney continued, “With our kids, I try not to force it. I teach them healthy stuff, and everything in moderation.  When we go to Disneyland, we eat whatever; we’re not bringing our own snacks!” The busy mom also shared how she copes with her ongoing anxiety.

“For the past three years, I’ve been going to therapy. Once a week I go to a double session. I look forward to it every week! Having that awareness, I find that I can almost catch things before they become a bigger deal.”

And therapy has also helped learn how to cope when things do become a bigger deal. “When those harder moments do happen, I think, ‘What’s the lesson that I’m supposed to be learning?’ My workouts are key, too. And I go to church once a week, if I can. I go with friends, and we go to dinner afterward. I’m such a homebody; it’s important for me to force myself to do something social!”
