After more than a month of searching, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has reported that they have found the body of 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell, according to USA Today.
According to one of the Bureau’s agents, the body of an approximately 1-year-old girl was found at the Boswell family home in Blountville, Tennessee. The body had on the “exact clothing” Evelyn was last seen wearing.

As People reported, at the time of her disappearance, Evelyn was reported wearing a pink tracksuit, pink shoes, and a pink bow. In addition to the body, investigators also found toys, diapers, and children’s clothing at the scene.
Evelyn’s mother, Megan Boswell, is currently being held on a $150,000 bond after being arrested for making false statements to the police about Evelyn’s whereabouts. Megan first reported her daughter missing on February 18, nearly two months after the girl was last seen.
After filing the report, Megan provided conflicting information to the police regarding who had last seen her daughter and where she might have been, People reports. After her arrest on February 25, Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy told reporters, “Every time we talk to her, her story changes. And I’m serious about that. Every single time.”
Shortly before DNA confirmed the body that was found was that of Evelyn’s, Special Agent Brian Fraley testified this week at a bond hearing for Megan that the body is that of a 1-1 ½-year-old girl that matches Evelyn’s description, according to USA Today.
Fraley further testified that Megan does not currently have a permanent residence or a job. She has also traveled within the past six months to Texas, as well as Bristol, Virginia.
Following the hearing, Megan’s bond was increased from its initial $25,000 to its current $150,000. She will next appear in court in early May.
Evelyn’s grandmother, Angela Boswell, as well as her friend William McCloud, were also arrested. However, they have not yet been charged in connection to the crime.
The Blountville community has set up a memorial honoring little Evelyn after the news broke of her body being found.
