Angelina Jolie has a brand-new TV project! The actress and humanitarian has partnered with the BBC to executive produce a series entitled “BBC My World,” which aims to cover world news for kids aged 13 or older and make sense of all of the information — and sometimes disinformation —they’re getting through various platforms.
The half-hour program can be seen every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on BBC World News, as well as on YouTube and BBC iPlayer. BBC presenters Radzi Chinyanganya and Nomia Iqbal will host the program, while Jolie will consult behind the cameras.
“As a parent, I am happy to be able to give my support to a program that aims to help children learn more about the lives of other young people around the world, and connect them to each other,” Jolie told Variety.
“I hope it will help children find information and tools they need to make a difference on the issues that matter to them, drawing on the BBC World Service’s network of thousands of journalists and multiple language services around the world,” she added.

One of the main aims of the show is to give kids more in-depth information on a number of topics affecting children around the world, including the deforestation in the Amazon rainforest and “deepfakes.”
“There’s a gap in provision for young people who want to understand how the news is made and the values that stand behind it,” Jamie Angus, director of BBC World Group, told Variety. “They need tools to distinguish the real from the false online, and the skills to think critically about information wherever they encounter it.”
Each show will also include a learning segment, as well as lesson plans developed by Microsoft Education.
