Warning: The below article discusses infant loss.
“Desperate Housewives” actress Madi De La Garza has shared a devastating update.
Almost two months after announcing her pregnancy, Garza took to Instagram to announce her infant’s passing.
On Oct. 26, Garza wrote, “On the evening of September 27th, after an emergency c-section, Ryan and I held our little girl for the first and last time.”
“Thank you, Xiomara, for making us parents to the most perfect angel in heaven,” she continued. “Mommy and Daddy love you sweet girl.”
Garza is also pop star Demi Lovato’s younger sister, who shared a message of her own regarding the heartbreaking news.
“RIP to my beautiful, perfect niece Xiomara,” Lovato wrote on her Instagram story. “I’m so grateful I got to hold you. I’ll forever be your auntie,” she added alongside two heartbroken emojis.
“I love you so much, Madi De La Garza,” she concluded her statement.
De La Garza was just four years old when she portrayed Juanita Solis on “Desperate Housewives.”
The 22-year-old first announced she and her boyfriend, actor Ryan Mitchell were expecting their first child together on Sept. 5.
“Oh Ryan, how I love you. Thank you for making all of my dreams come true,” De La Garza wrote in the caption, revealing that “Baby Mitchell” is due to arrive on Oct. 24.
Lovato, who is engaged to be married, commented on the post, writing, “I love you and this baby so much already!!”
Their mom, Dianna De La Garza, also commented on the post, writing, “Woohoooo I’m gonna be a REAL GRANDMA D NOW!!!! Love youuuuu!!”
De La Garza has largely remained off social media during her pregnancy. She called Mitchell her “whole world” in a post from June, her only other post made in 2024.
