Legendary actor James Earl Jones has died

At the age of 93, legendary actor James Earl Jones has died.

Jones died in his Dutchess County, New York home on Sept. 9. His death was confirmed by his representatives at Independent Artist Group, Deadline reports.

Jones was one of the few performers to hold the coveted EGOT title. He won an honorary Oscar in 2011. 

He hold two Emmy awards, three Tony awards, and won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Recording for “Great American Documents.”

Jones is best known for lending his voice to some of Hollywood’s most iconic characters including “Star Wars’” Darth Vader and “The Lion King’s” Mufasa. He is also known for his roles in “The Sandlot,” “Coming to America,” The Hunt for Red October,” and more.
