Did you know there are several rules that must be followed by Met Gala attendees? And if you break any of them, there is a good chance you won’t be invited back.
But yet, in a rare moment, Vogue broke one of its own rules last night.
On TikTok, Vogue stunned fans after they posted a video of one of the performances from inside the Met Gala. Seriously! Take a look:
And then they shared yet another video from the same perofrmance:
As Vogue revealed, Ariana Grande, who is set to take the world by storm with her highly anticipated role as Glenda in the film adaptation of Wicked, surprising fans with her Met Gala performance.
The Met Gala has been a major event for the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art since 1948. It’s raised an unbelievable amount of money for the institute since its inception and has become fashions biggest night.
The Met Ball is by invitation only and even then the roughly 450 people who attend the yearly gala are required to buy a ticket that cost a staggering $75,000, Time reports.
And while it has become fashions biggest night, what happens beyond the iconic Met steps remains a secret that not even Gossip Girl has shared with the public.
But what we do know is that there are rules that must be followed when attending the Met Gala and here are some of them.
You’re Gala Attire Must Be Approved
After getting the invite and paying thousands of dollars to secure your spot, People reveals that your look must then be approved from Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Phone Are Prohibited
This is a must if the Met wants to keep the shenanigans that happen behind closed doors a secret. However, it seems as though the iconic bathroom shots that are shared year in and year out are an exception to that rule.
No Smoking at Your Assigned Seats
There is a seating chart inside the event and it must be followed. Also, like most establishments these days, not even the elite are allowed to smoke inside the event.
You Must Be 18 or Older
Believe it or not, there is an age requirement in order to attend the Ball.
Are you surprised by any of these Met Gala rules?
