Kylie Jenner is opening up about the events that took place that ultimately led to her changing her 1-year-old son’s name.
While speaking with Wall Street Journal, Jenner says making the decision to change her son’s name “was the hardest thing that I’ve ever done in my life.” In fact, she still asks herself if she made the right decision.
As for why picking a name for her son was so difficult for her, Kylie admitted it was partly due to her postpartum battle. “The postpartum hit, and the hormones, and I couldn’t even make a decision or think straight. And it just destroyed me.”
“I could not name him. And I was like, ‘I feel like a failure. I don’t have a name for my son.’ So it took me a while. And then the longer I waited, the harder it was to name him.”
At first, Kylie landed on the name Wolf for her only son. However, soon after announcing his birth and his name, Kylie admitted she changed her mind.
It was months later that Kylie ultimately chose the name Aire. But only recently did Kylie make the change official.
Kylie opened up about the difficult time in her life on her family’s reality show The Kardashians. In the episode, Kylie said, “I didn’t realize the postpartum (hormones) would hit me that hard. I never called him Wolf ever. And then the second night, I was like, ‘Ooh.’”
“That night, I cried in the shower, and I was like, ‘That’s not his name. What did I just do? Wolf?!’ Someone just told me this 24 hours ago, I just named my son Wolf. It wasn’t even on the list.”
Back in June, People obtained court documents which state Kylie filed to officially have her son’s name changed from Wolf to Aire. As People further reported, “Aire” means “Lion of God.”
