Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have reached a temporary agreement regarding their two daughters – a 3-year-old (Willa) and a 1-year-old (name has yet to be revealed). Per the agreement, their two daughters will remain in the United States (New York, to be exact) until a more permanent agreement is reached.
Court documents, which were filed on Monday (Sept. 25), say Jonas and Turner ‘are prohibited from removing their two children … or causing the children to be removed from the jurisdictions of the United States District Courts for the Southern & Eastern Districts of New York pending further order of this Court.’
The agreement comes just one week after the former couple met to discuss the terms of their divorce and just a few days after Sophie sued her former husband for failing to release their daughters’ passports so she could take them back to the United Kingdom – where the beloved family had been living since May.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner moved to the English countryside in May, but have been living in a rental while they search for their ‘forever home.’ They entered contracts to purchase a home in July with the intention of moving in December, but things changed when Jonas filed for divorce in early September.
When Sophie finished filming an upcoming project, she flew to New York City to meet with Joe and discuss the terms of their divorce and come up with a plan for their two daughters. That meeting occurred on September 17 and was going well until Sophie demanded their daughters be returned to England.
Joe disagreed and said the children should remain in New York City for the time being – until they reach a co-parenting agreement. He refused to release their passports, which made their return to England impossible – something Sophie says is a ‘breach of the Mother’s rights of custody under English law.’
Sophie filed her lawsuit against Joe ‘through the child abduction clauses of the Hague Convention’ on September 21 and claimed that she ‘never consented or acquiesced to the removal of the children from England.’ The children have been under her care in New York City while Joe continues his world tour.
Joe Jonas’ Spokesperson Details Meeting With Sophie Turner
A spokesperson for Joe Jonas released a statement last week that detailed what went down when he met with Sophie Turner. The statement confirmed the former couple met in New York City on Sunday (Sept. 17) and said they had a ‘cordial meeting’ regarding their two daughters – who are currently with Sophie.
“Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup,” the statement read, according to TODAY.com. “Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK.”
Sophie then demanded Joe hand over the passports so they could return to the UK immediately. “If he complies, Joe will be in violation of the Florida Court order,” the spokesperson continued. As of Monday (Sept. 25), Joe and Sophie have yet to comment on the recent meeting and subsequent lawsuit filing.
