On July 7, two months after announcing their decision to divorce and filing papers to make it official, reality stars Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann had a change of heart it seems.
Now, things have changed again.
On August 24, People reported that Kroy Biermann has left Kim again, filing for divorce for the second time. Similarly to the first time he filed for divorce, Biermann again claimed that their marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
Kim’s reaction to the new divorce filing is unclear.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, documents shared publicly in July, revealed that the couple reportedly was granted a dismissal without prejudice of answer and counterclaim” by the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia.
A source confirmed Kim and Kroy’s decision, telling People that “they’re getting along and calling off the divorce. They’re trying to make it work for the kids.”
The decision to initially call of their divorce came as a bit of a surprise considering the tumultuous time the pair has had over the last several weeks. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, legal documents obtained by TMZ has revealed that Kim Zolciak was at one point reportedly concerned about her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann.
At the time, both Kim and Kroy were looking for physical custody of their four young children. However, according to the court documents, Kim has asked the judge to require Kroy to be drug tested before any custody decisions were made.
According to TMZ, the documents revealed Kim’s concern over Kroy’s marijuana smoking and how it would affect their children’s safety and well-being when they are in Kroy’s care.
While neither Kim nor Kroy Biermann have expressly addressed the news of their divorce, many had taken note of Kroy’s Instagram bio.
As some are reporting, Kroy seemingly threw shade at his estranged wife. “Husband. Father to six perfect munchkins. Athlete,” his bio reads before he seemingly addressed his wedding ring.
“My ring Meant a Thing, you can Google Me & see I wasn’t Tardy for that Party,” he added. While several articles have alleged the biography was updated after news of their divorce went public, Mamas Uncut could not confirm when the bio was added.
Kroy has not posted to his Instagram page since 2021.
Several sources claimed at the time that Kim and Kroy were divorcing because of their financial woes have become too much to handle. After Kim Zolciak filed for divorce as did Kroy.
In Kroy’s petition, he stated that “the parties have accumulated certain debts and obligations, during the course of this marriage,” and he originally sought an “equitable division of same,” Fox News reports.
The reality star and the former football player have been married for 11 years. The news of their split came months after their home was nearly foreclosed on and they reportedly owe nearly $1.1 million in back taxes.
Kim filed for divorce on April 30, as did Kroy. According to the documents obtained by TMZ, Kim claimed the reason for their impending divorce was because their marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
Kim went on ask for primary physical custody and joint legal custody of the four children they share. Kim also has two grown children, Brielle and Ariana Biermann, from a previous relationship.
The documents further revealed that Kim wants spousal support from Kroy and she asked to restore her name back to her maiden name, Zolciak. And Kroy requested to be “awarded exclusive, temporary and permanent use and possession of the marital residence,” suggesting Kim will be moving out.
According to the IRS, Kim and Kroy owe $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties. These discrepancies are from 2013, 2017, and 2018. They also owe $15,000 to the state of Georgia where their home is.
It remains unclear if the home they share in Atlanta remains in foreclosure.
