In a new interview with TMZ, Jenelle Evans is talking about the events that led up to one of the scariest moments of her life.
Earlier this week, TMZ reports that North Carolina police put out a “runaway bulletin” on Tuesday. Jenelle’s oldest son, who she got custody of not too long ago, had run away from school.
Thankfully, hours after Jace had left school grounds without anyone’s permission, he was ultimately found safe.

According to Jenelle Evans, Jace got in trouble at school, TMZ reports. As a form of punishment, Jenelle took Jace’s phone away, and “that’s when he decided to run off,” Jenelle explained.
“Jace is a good kid and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children.” However, Jenelle’s mother, Barbara, who raised Jace for much of his life, is claiming there is more to the story.
While Barbara admits Jenelle is not talking to her at the moment, she says she is concerned for Jace’s safety. She believes Jenelle has made the decision to take Jace off his ADHD medications, which she also believes played a part in his decision to run away.
Barbara said Jace had been on the medication for several years and was visiting a behavioral specialist regularly. That all stopped when Jenelle regained custody of Jace in March.
Jenelle confirmed that she has cut off all contact with her mom weeks ago but denies Barbara’s claims that Jace stopped therapy completely. “Barbara has not been in contact with Jace since Monday,” she told TMZ.
“I have cut off contact with her as of 3 weeks ago. Barbara doesn’t have any idea what is going on inside my home. Jace had a therapist appointment today on Zoom at 10:30 a.m. She hasn’t even attempted to speak to Jace directly.”
Despite this recent incident, Barbara says she’s not looking to regain custody of her grandson, but that she does want to know something like this will never happen again.
