Cassidy Gifford and her husband, Ben Wierda, have some exciting news to share with the world – they’re officially parents! The couple gave birth to their first child on June 24 and introduced the baby boy to their followers with an Instagram photo of the newborn’s little foot cradled inside Cassidy’s palm.
“Our whole entire world. Finn Thomas Wierda 6.24.2023. We are so madly in love with you, buddy,” she wrote in the Instagram caption on Friday (June 30). The exciting news officially makes Kathie Lee Gifford (Cassidy’s mother) a two-time grandmother after her son, Cody Gifford, had a son in May 2022.
And that’s just the beginning of what’s going to be an exciting year for the Gifford family. On June 2, Cody and his wife, Erika Gifford, took to Instagram to reveal their second pregnancy and shared excitement over becoming a family of four this winter. The news came just two days after their son’s first birthday.

Cassidy Gifford and Ben Wierda announced their pregnancy in December – one week before Christmas. They shared a photo of their fireplace, which was equipped with a baby stocking sandwiched between two larger stockings. A whole lot extra to be praising Jesus for this Christmas,” they wrote in the caption.
Cassidy has been rather quiet during her pregnancy and only posted two more photos before her most recent one. She posted a photo of her and her husband (and her baby bump) at a wedding on April 24, and posted another photo of her kissing her man for their three-year wedding anniversary on June 7.
The couple have been together since 2015 – they started dating shortly after Cassidy’s father, former NFL player Frank Gifford, passed away of natural causes. Ben got on one knee and proposed to Cassidy in November 2019 and the couple initially tied the knot in June 2020 – the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With COVID restrictions making it hard to enjoy a large wedding, they decided to throw an intimate ceremony with close family members in Michigan. In October 2021, with COVID-19 restrictions loosening, they threw a larger wedding with family and friends – and now 20 months later, they have a son together!
