Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri received an abundance of holiday gifts in early December when they delivered 12 sets of twins: the most the hospital has ever seen at one time.
“We always see multiples in here, but not 12 sets at one time,” said Danielle Gathers, a hospital nurse, told CNN.

12 Sets of Twins Born in Kansas City, MO Hospital in Just One Week
The twins are all currently being cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit after being born between five to 14 weeks prematurely. They will all be sent home at different points over the next few weeks.
Helen Ransom, a photographer with Faces You Love, was on hand at the hospital to capture sweet photos of the newest arrivals, including pictures of Amanda Tollifer and her new arrivals, who she is hoping can come home by Christmas.
She also got snaps of Jena Williams and her newborns who will stay in the hospital until her original due date in 11 weeks.
Despite being extra busy in the maternity wards, the families have been thrilled with the care they’re receiving.
“Everyone here at St. Luke’s has been fantastic,” Tyler Williams said. “From the top down, I feel like we’ve had as good of an experience as we can expect dealing with our early birth.”
The influx of twins has created an impromptu parenting community within the hospital.
“It’s really neat because these moms and dads have come in and they’re meeting other families with the same unique challenges they have,” nurse Kyla Anderson said.
