Just 8 months after welcoming their second child into the world, Amy Slaton’s husband, Michael Halterman, has filed for divorce.
According to People, the 40-year-old father submitted court documents to begin the divorce process on March 13. Amy and Michael have been married since 2017, when they eloped.

The couple eventually had a wedding and renewed their vows two years later, in 2019. The nuptials were documented on their TLC show, 1000-Lb. Sisters.
Just 8 months ago, on July 5, Amy and Michael welcomed their second child into the world. The former couple proudly announced Glenn Allen’s birth on Instagram before revealing that he was born via cesarean section and weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces.
“The wait is finally over … Michael and I are happy to announce the birth of our son, Glenn Allen Halterman. The delivery was a huge success, and now I have both of my miracle boys; our family is complete,” she told People at the time.
Despite the end of their marriage, Amy has seemed in good spirits. On March 6, Amy took to Instagram to share a handful of selfies with the caption, “Beautiful day to smile!!!”
Michael and Amy also share a two-year-old son, Gage, who was born in November 2020. “Being a mom is what I’ve wanted to do since I was 5 years old, and I’ve always wanted two kids. Our family is finally complete. We can put us in a frame and hang us on the wall now,” Amy once revealed on her show.
Neither Michael nor Amy has yet to personally comment on the end of their marriage.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, it’s been a difficult year for the Slaton sisters. As a recent episode of their show revealed, while Tammy was seeking treatment for weight-related health issues, her home was broken into, and the house was nearly completely ransacked.
As the clip revealed, it was Slaton’s other sisters, Amanda and Misty, who stumbled upon the robbery as they were picking up a few things Tammy had asked for while she was in rehab. “Girl, all of her stuff is gone!” Amanda exclaimed in the clip. “Oh, this is some bulls–t. Hold on, I’m going to take a video of this s–t real quick.”
Both Amanda and Misty were flabbergasted by just how much stuff was stolen from Tammy’s home. “Girl, all of her stuff is gone!” Amanda exclaims. “Oh, this is some bulls–t. Hold on, I’m going to take a video of this s–t real quick.”
“The fridge was over here. The table was here. The kitchen sink’s gone. The bathroom sink. The water heater’s missing. Her dresser that was in here was gone with the rest of the clothes and sh-t that was in it.”
Amanda and Misty then began to grow concerned about what this will do to Tammy when she finds out. They didn’t want this tragedy to derail her recovery.
