Julie and Todd Chrisley‘s daughter, Savannah, is not backing down from her claim that her parents are innocent of the fraud charges that landed them in federal prison.
During an interview on the “Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristow” podcast, the Chrisley Knows Best star said her parents are “100%” not guilty. She also suggested that the appeal process “will show those things.”
She was also asked if she resented her parents for their convictions. And, she did not mince words that she stands by them.
“I know who my parents are,” Savannah explained. “I know the things they have and have not done. I know the witch hunt. When the government wants someone, they want someone. They’re going to do whatever it takes to make it look how they need it to look. There’s no resentment whatsoever.”
The reality star, 26, also relayed what it was like when the guilty sentences were handed down, saying, “I will never forget the moment, sitting in that courtroom every day, a four-week trial.”
“And it took three days for the verdict to come back,” she pointed out and you could hear the resilience in her voice.
“I will never forget when they stood up to read the verdicts, and it was like, ‘guilty, guilty, guilty,’ like over and over and over again,” she added.
She recalled her parents’ emotional reaction to hearing all of those guilties, explaining that “They were just in tears. We were not expecting that; we were like, ‘There’s no way.'”
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Savannah’s parents were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison following a jury finding the couple guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans, in addition to conspiring to defraud the IRS.
