Football Player Says He Killed HS Cheerleader Because She Waited Too Long to Tell Him She Was Pregnant

When a 17-year-old girl went missing around midnight on Saturday, her family called police around 4:30 a.m. after they “got the feeling that something wasn’t right.”

On Sunday morning officers discovered Breana Rouhselang’s body in a dumpster behind a restaurant near her home in Mishawaka, Indiana, reports Associated Press.

Breana was six months pregnant. A 16-year-old boy was arrested in the murder.

AP reports, Aaron Trejo confessed to killing his schoolmate because she was pregnant and waited too long to tell him. He was angry because it was too late for an abortion.

As reported by ABC News the affidavit states that during the interrogation Trejo allegedly told police:

“Neither he nor Breana wanted to have the baby.

I took action….I took her life.”

According to the investigation report, Trejo stabbed the girl to death after a fight about the pregnancy. He told officers he had planned on killing her for about a week but hadn’t told anyone.

The 16-year-old disposed of Rouhselang’s body in a trash can and threw her phone and the knife he took from home in a river. An autopsy confirmed that the pregnant teenager died from multiple stab wounds and strangulation.

The Indiana football player and Mishawaka High School cheerleader had known each other since elementary school.

Trejo was charged as an adult with one count of murder and one count of “abortion of a fetus.”

As reported by the Daily Mail, Rouhselang’s stepmother told the South Bend Tribune:

“She was like my daughter.”

I’ve known her since she was 6. I just don’t understand it. She was young. … too young to have a baby herself.”

On Monday the students at Mishawaka staged a walked out and moment of silence in honor of their classmate.

A GoFundMe has been established on behalf of the teen’s family to help pay for her funeral and memorial expenses.

The Rouhselangs said the girl was “so full of life and didn’t deserve this.”
