Despite their divorce, it seems as though not too much love is lost between Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen.
As At The Buzzer previously reported, during the morning hours of February 1, Tom Brady took to Instagram to share a video 365 days after he retired the first time. Except for this time, Brady says he means it.
“Good morning. I’ll get to the point right away. I’m retiring for good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning, I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.”
Brady continued, saying, “So, I won’t be longwinded, you only get one super long emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year. I really thank you guys so much. To every single one of you for supporting me, my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever, there are too many. Thank you, guys, for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you all.”
Shortly after posting the video, Brady was offered several well wishes from some of the biggest names in the world. From JJ Watt, who also retired this year, to Serena Williams, who is currently enjoying retirement herself, so many people know how bittersweet it is to see the G.O.A.T go for real this time.
Gisele Bundchen Responds to Tom Brady’s Retirement Announcement
But perhaps the most noticeable comment is from Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen. As it has been well documented, just as this past football season began, it was revealed that Brady and Bundchen’s marriage had come to an end.
It was a seemingly fast divorce, but as her comment reveals, the former couple still wants what is best for each other.
“Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life,” Bundchen wrote. It received over 22,000 likes and more than 700 responses.
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, on October 28, 2022, news broke that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have officially filed for divorce. The high-profile couple has been married for 13 years.
While a guest on his Sirius XM radio show, Brady said, “I think there’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home,” he said.
“Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation, and I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children, and secondly, doing the best job I can to win football games.”
“So, that’s what professionals do. You focus at work when it’s time to work, and then when you come home you focus on the priorities that are at home. All you can do is the best you could do. That’s what I’ll just continue to do as long as I’m working and as long as I’m being a dad,” Brady added.
Brady then briefly touched on dealing with such a public divorce, calling that part of the situation very difficult. “We all have our unique challenges in life. We’re all humans. We do the best we could do.”
Brady went on to add that he has “incredible parents that have always taught me the right way to do things. I want to be a great father to my children and always try to do things the right way as well.”
”And to deal with things in your life that have challenges, you wanna deal with them in the best possible way. So, I want to always be able to hold my head high on and off the field, and I’m gonna try to continue to do that for as long as I’m here.”
Legal documents obtained by People revealed that the divorce has been signed off by a judge and that the marriage is now considered dissolved and “irretrievably broken.”
