The holiday season is in full bloom and, like most kids across the country, there’s one little elf that can’t wait for Christmas to appear – Daisy Dove Bloom, the two-year-old daughter of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. Apparently, Daisy is starting to understand the whole idea behind Christmas and the “holiday spirit.”
In an interview with Access Hollywood at the 2022 American Music Awards, also known as the AMAs, Katy Perry reflected on what this season means for her and her family. The 38-year-old singer-songwriter detailed how Daisy is “just coming alive” – adding that it’s her “third Christmas and she’s super into it.”
“I need to order my Elf on the Shelf now. I can’t do 25 days on my first Elf on the Shelf guys, you know what I’m talking about. It’s a journey, I’ll do 15 days, maybe 10,” she said while laughing. Elf on the Shelf is a special Christmas tradition that most parents celebrate with their children leading up to the big day.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom started dating in January 2016 and while they decided to split a year later, they rekindled their relationship in February 2018. The following year, in February 2019, the couple announced their engagement – they haven’t gotten married yet, but they did welcome a child in 2020.
The couple announced they were pregnant in March 2020 and Daisy Dove Bloom was born in August 2020 – just a few days before Katy Perry distributed her 2020 album titled Smile. It was a special moment for Perry, who was becoming a mother for the first time – her fiance shares a son with Miranda Kerr.
Katy Perry often honors her daughter on social media, having referred to Daisy as her ‘present forever’ and even dedicating her 38th birthday to her little girl. “Every time I blow a candle out I always wish for you. 38 and grateful,” the singer wrote in an Instagram caption, sharing an adorable photo of the family.
“I have a residency in Las Vegas and I get to literally drop her off at preschool and then go play a show in Las Vegas,” she explained in an interview with Extra. “I come back late, like maybe 11:30 or something, I still make her lunches. I feel so much pride in cutting off the ends of the sandwiches with a full face of, like, sweaty makeup in my robe. It’s such a science.”
Does Katy Perry Plan on Expanding Her Family?
In August, shortly after celebrating her daughter’s 2nd birthday, Katy Perry was pressured with a question we’ve all been wanting to ask her – does she plan on having more kids with fiance Orlando Bloom? While she didn’t confirm the idea of having a second child (or more), she technically didn’t deny it either.
“I’m a planner, so we’ll see,” said Perry, who was in the midst of celebrating the launch of De Soi – her new non-alcoholic sparkling beverage. Don’t worry, she later added that she has ‘of course’ thought of expanding her family and is certainly ‘hopeful’ that she gets the opportunity with Orlando in the future.
“We do this funny thing where I go and visit him for a month while he’s making a movie and then when he’s not making a movie, he kind of takes charge on being number one parent,” Perry explained. “Then I go and do all my business stuff, so we really are just tapping each other in and out,” the singer added.

For those hoping to see a second baby Bloom, you might have to wait a little while – but it looks like the couple will likely try for another one at some point. In the meantime, she’ll be making headlines with her sold-out Las Vegas concert residency titled Play – which she has been a part of since 2021.
