When Anna Faris and Chris Pratt announced they were separating in 2017, they knew they had to do whatever possible to ensure a quality life for their son – who was five years old at the time. Now more than five years later, the former couple is enjoying their lives as co-parents.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Anna Faris opened up about how content she is with her current co-parenting situation. “We’re all getting much closer, and I so appreciate that. They’re very protective of me, and I want to be very protective of them. I so appreciate their support.”
Pratt and Faris started dating in 2007, got engaged in 2008, and wed in 2009. They had their first and only child – a son named Jack – on August 25, 2012, before separating five years later. Their divorce was finalized in 2018 and they have since moved on, both marrying new partners.

In fact, Anna Faris hopes their blended families can one day celebrate holidays together – adding that they would do it now, but family obligations currently get in the way. “I’m happy with that element. And it feels just much easier now that time has passed,” said Faris to PEOPLE.
Pratt started dating Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2018 and the couple got married in 2019. They had their first daughter, Lyla, in 2020 and a second daughter, Eloise, in 2022 – making Pratt a father of three. Faris added how ‘awesome’ Schwarzenegger is with their son, Jack.
Meanwhile, Faris started dating cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2017. The couple announced their engagement in 2020 and got married the following year. While they haven’t welcomed a child of their own, Barrett has two children from a previous relationship.
Speaking of her significant other, Faris had a lot of nice things to say about him. “We realized early on that we didn’t want to be apart. There’s a feeling of consistent safety and security that I really appreciate,” she said. It appears Faris has very little to complain about these days!

With the year quickly coming to a close, Faris has a new project she can’t wait for everyone to experience – a new movie titled The Estate. It’s about two sisters who attempt to get on their aunt’s good side in hopes of becoming the beneficiaries of her estate when she soon dies.
Faris plays one of the sisters in a role that really plays to her strengths as an actress. Her character spends the entire film scheming with her sister, just to find out they aren’t the only family members scheming. It’s Faris’ first major film since 2018 when she starred in Overboard.

The Estate is set to be released on November 4th. The film is directed by Dean Craig and produced by Marc Goldberg, Sarah Gabriel, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Alison Benson. It stars David Duchovny, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Kathleen Turner alongside Anna Faris.
