Moms can truly do it all! In fact, Molly Waitz proved herself to be the ultimate multitasker by pumping breast milk while running the New York City Marathon.
As the mother of an eight-month-old baby boy, Molly knew that she would need to pump sometime during the 26.2-mile race. The solution was to strap a portable breast pump to her chest.

The ultimate athlete from Cutchogue, New York shared her story with Good Morning America. “I pumped for the first time somewhere between miles three and four and then I did it again right off the Queensboro Bridge, which was mile 16,” she said. “I slowed down a little bit to do it but I didn’t really have to. You could do it blindfolded.”

Baby Bode’s mom ran the marathon on behalf of the charity First Candle, an organization committed to ending Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related infant deaths while providing bereavement support to families who have experienced a loss.
“I wanted to do the marathon and the necessity was figuring out how I was going to do it.”

Molly ended up using the Willow Breast Pump, a device that allowed her to pump hands-free while running.
“I never thought I would [run a marathon] and the fact that I was able to do it while working full-time and caring for my child, it was just unbelievable,” Waitz said.
