When Honey Boo Boo first became a household name she was a mere 6-year-old child who loved to compete in beauty pageants and make people smile. Now, Honey Boo Boo—also known as Anna Thompson—is 16 years old and feeling very grown-up.
While talking with TooFab earlier this month, Honey Boo Boo’s mom, Mama June, gave an update on how she and her family are doing. Along with revealing she is no longer dating Geno, Mama June talked about Alana’s new love interest.
Mama June Gives Family Update After Rumors Reveal Honey Boo Boo Is Dating an Older Man
According to Mama June, Alana is dating a man named Dralin. He’s reportedly 20 years old and she seems rather okay with their age gap.
“Yes, I’ve met Dralin. They’ve been together for over a year,” she shared. “People need to realize that she’s going to be 17 in August and that [Alana’s older sister] Pumpkin and Josh were the same age as they were.”
Mama June continued to say Honey Boo Boo has had to deal with a lot of criticism when her relationship with Dralin went public. “She is getting a lot of hate because she’s in an interracial relationship, he is older.”

“But at the end of the day, Alana’s not that 6-, 7-year-old child y’all fell in love with 11 years ago. Alana has grown up, she’s graduating high school next year, guys,” she added. And while Mama June seems to like Dralin, she does have one critique of her own.
“He needs to hold down a job a little bit more. I mean, he’s not bad. He doesn’t treat her bad or anything like that. They’re [young] and they’ve been together over a year. So, if they last? Fine. If they don’t, it can be her first love.”
Mama June also updated the world on how her relationship with Honey Boo Boo is doing. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, following her arrest and her refusal to leave Geno, Alana moved in with her older sister Pumpkin and her family.
According to Mama June, while her relationship with her youngest daughter is on the mend and she’s 29 months sober, Honey Boo Boo does still live with Pumpkin. “Our relationship is going good. You’ll see that throughout the season. She is turning 17 in August. So that’s the thing, she is graduating next year. A lot of people still look at her as that 6-year-old little girl, but she’s [grown up].”

And although everyone is talking about Honey Boo Boo’s new man, Mama June reveals she had a new man herself too, Justin. If you’ve been following her on TikTok you likely already got a glimpse of him and Mama June together.
Mama told TooFab that she met Justin, who is nearly eight years younger than she is, last year and they became friends first. “I actually met him on TikTok,” she revealed. “People were coming in and out of my life and God opened up that door. You know, I’m not a bible thumper, but sometimes God opens those doors a couple of times and you never want to walk through them. So when I finally did, Justin came into my life when we both needed each other.”
