Just six weeks after celebrating his daughter’s second birthday, country singer Ned LeDoux—best known for his song Forever A Cowboy—had to say goodbye to his little girl.
One week after his daughter, Haven, passed away, LeDoux and his wife of 11 years, Morgan, issued a statement on Facebook. Haven passed away on October 20, following a choking incident.
The statement read, “It is with great sadness that Ned & Morgan inform friends and fans that their two-year-old daughter Haven passed away on October 20th due to a tragic choking accident in the home. The LeDoux family appreciates your love and support and is requesting privacy at this time.”
One of LeDoux’s last social media posts about his young daughter was for her second birthday on September 15. The picture showed Haven grinning from ear to ear as she stood behind a table filled with birthday treats.
LeDoux wrote on Haven’s big day, “Turned the big #2 today! Happy to be home for this special day. What a character this one.”
The statement originally stated, “Paramedics were called to the family’s northeast Kansas home on October 20th and arrived quickly, but attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful,” according to Taste of Country.
It’s unclear why that piece of the original statement was deleted. No other details regarding Haven’s passing have been revealed.
However, what is clear, is how much LeDoux loves Haven and the rest of his family, which includes a son named Branson. Whether it be on tour:
Or the sweet goodbyes he would get before going on the road:
His family is always at the top of the list.

LeDoux is the son of the late country singer and rodeo champion, Chris LeDoux. LeDoux got his start in music playing drums for Chris’ band. LeDoux went solo in 2015, 10 years after his father’s passing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the LeDoux family during this difficult time.
